Biography:

Dr Tim Ackland is Professor of applied anatomy and biomechanics within the School of Human Movement & Exercise Science, at the University of Western Australia. He has research interests in the mechanics of human movement with themes spanning exercise rehabilitation, high performance sport and human performance in industry. Professor Ackland has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers as well as 4 academic books and 17 book chapters. Tim is a Fellow and former director of Sports Medicine Australia and is on the review boards of four international journals. He served as the Scientific Chair for the 5th IOC World Congress on Sport Sciences for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and as Conference Co-chair for Sports Medicine Australia in Perth, 2001. For the past 15 years, he has been the Principal of Ackland, Marshall and Associates, Ergonomics Consultants.
